Tammie was born and raised right here in the beautiful state of Utah. She met her husband in 1981 while in college at the University of Utah and together they raised 4 children – 2 boys and 2 girls. As their family has grown, Tammie has been blessed with 6 grandchildren and a GoldenDoodle to round out the family.

Tammie attended Murray High School where she was the Math Sterling Scholar. She taught in the public education system from 2005 until she retired in 2015, teaching in both middle school and high school settings. Tammie has taught math levels from Special Education math to concurrent enrollment Math 1010 and 1050, and everything in between. Tammie came out of retirement in 2022 to be a substitute teacher for summer term here at Stillwater. She connected so well with the students that the temporary position turned into a permanent substitute, which turned into teaching our Algebra I class. With such a flexible schedule, it allows Tammie to enjoy her retired life while continuing to dabble with her love of teaching.

Tammie likes to spend her free time making cards and scrapbooking pictures from their travel adventures. Since retiring, she’s been able to create many memories traveling the world with her husband. She also owns a family cabin in the mountains where she loves going four-wheeling. Of course, free time isn’t as fun without spending it with her grandchildren. She loves to support them in their sports and dancing competitions.

Tammie loves Stillwater for its small class sizes. Having small classes provides her the opportunity to get to know her students at a level she never was able to in public school. She is able to understand each student’s needs and has the ability to look for ways to help them each be successful.
