Program Overview

Stillwater Academy is a licensed residential treatment center providing an integrated therapeutic, academic, and family-centered approach to adolescent care. Our specialized treatment model is designed to help teens and families who have experienced significant disruption, emotional challenges, and difficult life circumstances find healing, rebuild relationships, and move toward lasting change.

Stillwater provides a warm, supportive residential environment for adolescents who may have experienced adoption or attachment challenges, traumatic divorce, abuse, family conflict, or other traumatic and disruptive life experiences. Here, students receive the consistency and structure they need while surrounded by caring adults, accredited education, meaningful relationships, and comprehensive therapeutic support.

Our staff helps each student develop greater awareness of their emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and choices while learning to take healthy responsibility for the things they can control. As students build confidence and a more positive sense of self, they can begin looking beyond their present struggles—developing hope, setting goals, strengthening relationships, and envisioning a meaningful and successful future.

An evidence-based, family-systems approach is at the heart of Stillwater’s treatment model. Individualized attention, consistent structure, licensed therapy, accredited academics, recreation and experiential activities, family involvement, relationship building, and aftercare work together as an integrated program. The goal is not simply to change a teen’s behavior while they are at Stillwater, but to strengthen the young person and the family system so that meaningful progress can continue long after they return home.
